I have given each of the students their sign in and password for Zearn.   Remember, students either need to complete 1 lesson or 20 minutes on Zearn per week.  They will record their time on their reading log.  The class code for Zearn is XK7B4V.  You will need this code the first time your child signs on.

The kids did much better on their test this past week.  Thank you for helping support them at home.  I can tell they are studying. 🙂

Academic News

We had another very busy week in room 216.  I am so very proud of the kids and the hard work they are putting in every day.  It really makes a difference!  In math, we focused on solving multi-step word problems using tape diagrams.  We took a quiz and I was very pleased with how they did!  They were difficult problems!  We talked about how you have to have good comprehension in order to solve word problems, because you have to understand what it’s asking you.  There were a few questions that stumped most of the kids.  I am going to type up some new word problems and we will continue practicing next week.  (Practice makes almost perfect) 😉  In ELA, we wrapped up our unit on finding the Theme in a story.  We took a test on Friday which will come home in Monday folders.  We will continue to summarize stories and find the theme of stories throughout the year.  In Idaho History, we wrapped up the symbols of Idaho and the kids made their very own Idaho State Seal.  Kindness week was wonderful!  I saw so many acts of kindness with the kids, it made my heart happy!  You are doing a great job with them!  Thank you for sharing them with me every day!
