PTO Basket

our fun-filled carnival is coming up in May.  Our basket theme is Game Night.  We will be paired with Ms. Kessler’s class for this basket.   If you are interested in donating items whether it be games or snacks you would have on game night, please let me know.  You could also just send the items in with your child. 🙂 Items are due by May 9th.  Thank you in advance!

We take our second ISAT test on Tuesday.  Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast and gets plenty of rest. Last year, we received a donation for string cheese. The kids look forward to having this before the test.  Emily Kirk and Aubrey Tueller have been kind enough to donate cheese for the first 2 tests.  Please let me know if you would like to donate cheese for Tuesday, April 23rd or Tuesday, April 30th.

In class we have been talking about Grit and what it takes to have Grit.  Hard work, perseverance, courage and strength of character.  Always doing their best is so important!  I know ISAT tests can be frustrating and discouraging for our kids and they may not want to try or feel like they want to give up.  Taking the ISAT takes Grit!  By digging deep, ISAT testing doesn’t have to be a scary, horrible thing.  Please remind your child of this and if they work hard and persevere, it will be ok.

Testing dates for 4th grade:

Tuesday, April 16th (ELA)

Tuesday, April 23rd (Math)

Tuesday, April 30th (Math)

Fractured Fairytales

Each student will be making their Fractured Fairytale book.  This is A LOT of work, but is a lot of fun and a nice keepsake for the kids.  We will be on a tight timeline to finish each part.  Please try to make sure your child is in school as much as possible (unless they are sick of course). 🙂  It can be hard to catch up if they miss a day of school.  I can’t wait to see what the kids come up with!
